I started taking in studio yoga classes in my first year of dance college in 2014. It was a breath of fresh air amongst the competitive nature of the dance world. In 2017, I was going through an extremely difficult time in my life and I went every single day, sometimes twice a day to my local studio, Yogahouse, in south east London. A few months in, I found out that my teacher, Imir Frazer, was doing a yoga teacher training there. It was like a light bulb had gone off.

The training was intense and very personal for me.

I completed my 200 hour yoga teacher training with Parampara School of Yoga in March 2019 and I have been teaching ever since.

In August 2020, I completed my 30 hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training with Eva Maxine online. I went on to train with Eva again in April 2021 and completed my Restorative Yoga Teacher Training. I have also completed Trauma Informed yoga workshops with Lorna Evans.

I strive to offer a safe space for people to come as they are. I teach a range of different classes in different spaces including yoga for foster carers, classes online & in studio. My classes are sprinkled with influences from my dance training, moments of quiet and generally a quote or a “food for thought” phrase near the end. Yoga is so much more than the physical postures and I want to share as much as I can with as many people as possible.

I am a brand ambassador for Kind Candles which is a small business in Edinburgh. All candles are lovingly hand poured by Emily herself. I am so proud to say I am an ambassador for such a wonderful company.

The candles are vegan, cruelty-free and use sustainable rapeseed wax.

A little note from Emily:

"Whilst creating sustainable candles that inspire joy and bring about positive wellbeing, I wanted to design candles that would be kind to the beautiful planet we call home.

Every candle bought supports charities making a positive difference; promoting positive health and wellbeing, improving our natural environment and reducing carbon emissions."

Emily and I launched our first collaboration in late November 2019.

Under this collaboration, we created two yoga and candle gift sets. In each set, there was your chosen candle and a pre-recorded yoga flow created by me drawing on inspiration from that candle. We sold out of all giftsets in two weeks.

In 2022, we launched our yoga and candle-making workshop

"Awaken the Senses"

which we are very excited to bring to 2023.

Check out the website below to bring you to the Kind Candles shop and keep an eye out for more collaborations in the future.

I worked with Young Scot on their

Aye Feel Mindfulness Monday campaign

which launched in November 2020. We worked together to bring yoga to young people aged specifically between 11-25 with a particular aim to students during this unsettling time.

By providing short yoga flow via YouTube, young people have easier access to content that will aid some calmness and relaxation to their days.

Check out the link below to the Young Scot content which is available free now.
